Old Town Rogersville....

How long has it been since you walked downtown?

Old Town Rogersville, one block north of Hwy 72, is a simple trip to back home.

Whether you explore K's Cove Books & Treasure, (sheepish grin) for a good book,
neat puzzle, or WiFi, or amble down the sidewalk to Cafe Savannah for some absolutely wonderful coffee or lunch outside in the sunshine, Old Town Rogersville will absolutely steal your heart ! Care has been taken to restore the old town feel in the buildings and with the friendliness of everyone you meet.

The Lemon Tree and Village Interiors have the most amazing treatments for your home.

Rogersville even has an art studio.......yessssss.............art studio.

Sugar Creek Soap and Candles offers absolutely scrumptious smelling candles, soaps, bath salts and so much more! The candles and bath goodies are all made on-site so the shoppe always smells so wonderfully surprising.....

We love our East Lauderdale News. It is one of the oldest weekly, good-news newspapers around.

Mimi's is a shop for everyone... as well as a shop that is hard to describe. There are totes, blankets, baby items and anything that can be embroidered ! The embroidery work is a great addition to any gift..

Too Peas is a new addition to Rogersville. A unique gift shop.

The ladies at Merle Norman know just what you need to make you feel beautiful.

J
an's Antique Mall is a view of times past, and yet ever so present in Rogersville.

Come....... walk downtown........ talk to your friends on the sidewalk as they stroll by with smiles on their faces, or just sit in the park and enjoy the quiet.

It's amazing what a easy stroll can do for your attitude............

AAARRRGGGHHHHH

Why do they have to mess it up ?
That cute little KIA Soul....... spunky, I love it !
Then they make a commercial with the critters doing hip-hop music !! Now instead of picturing myself in one of them popping off down town..... All I can picture is some greasy teen-ager in saggy pants and a bad attitude driving my little car down the road.......... OHHHH the agony !

Obama Tax

Ok, the Obama Tax on tanning bed usage began July 1, 2010. I don't like it, but have no choice but to charge 10% on all tanning bed packages...........sigh.

When I am President WE will all have peaches and cream...........The old man replies, "but I am diabetic and can't have peaches and cream.............."

When I am President WE WILL all have peaches and cream.........The housewife replies, " but I don't want peaches and cream........"

When I am President WE WILL ALL have peaches and cream.... The child cries and replies, "but I don't like peaches and cream........"

When I am President WE WILL ALL HAVE PEACHES AND CREAM, WE WILL ALL LIKE IT, AND WE WILL ALL BE IN DEBT TO OUR WONDERFUL PRESIDENT FOR PROVIDING IT!!!

Israel - Palestine Info

Found this website........ Although I am sure that there are many others, there is enough reading and maps on this site alone to keep us busy for a while.

I am not promoting this website over any other. I found it interesting.

I started with "Brief History of Palestine, Israel and the Israeli Palestinian Conflict".

I NEED A FEW LESSONS

OK, I admit it. I need some help.

I am extremely interested in what is going on in the Gaza Strip, unfortunately, I am very ignorant about the geography, political associations and just about every thing else regarding the area.

I listen to the news, and read the paper, and get the feeling that I am supposed to already know all of this.

Maybe I am not tuned to the best of sources. I always try to read all of that fine print that is invisible to all but the most persistent readers of our local paper. All that gets me is a major headache. There is also the fact that most of what national news that is in the paper is a "cut and paste" process from the AP or whatever.

Why can't we have a column written by a couple of local, I don't know, maybe high school teachers regarding national news. Not only would we get an idea of what is being taught in our local schools, but whether the teaching is done with or without political bias.

I had a high school teacher, Mr. Harry Wallace, who made the days in his class worth the effort of going to school. Lively debate, probing questions, and an unending willingness to try to expand our little minds left a definite impression on mine............ As a matter of fact, I called him regarding an essay question on a Political Science final exam at college, many years later. Yes, he answered all of my questions and yeppers....... I was right. (Smug Smile)

Now all of you who know me, know the strange ways in which my mind can deviate from a straight course but, stay with me here. At my advanced age I heard and questioned what was going on in our world. Aha, I thought, check out a map. Hmmm, yep I see it. Next thought was where to get some info that I could trust. Then, I thought, who could point me in the right direction.............And that led me back to a High School "American Political Behavior" teacher. To me, that says a lot. Harry, where are you ??!!!

Ah well, as usual, I digress.......... Always wanted to say that.

I will be digging around the net, asking questions of anyone who may be able to help me, and trying to get all of the basics involved in the Israel situation.

Yes, I located it on the map. I get the gist of where things are happening. That area has been a hot spot for ages. Hhhhhmmmmm Maybe I should check with my Preacher/Teacher John and see if he can offer some insight. Oh yeah, right............. Bible study on Wednesday night....... Be There.

SHUT THE DOOR !!!!

Not really...... LOL
Well, it's 2009.......yeppers.

The bookstore was so busy today that I had a hard time just saying HI! to everyone.....sigh. Yes, I know that the bookstore needs customers to stay open, but, I really get depressed when I don't get to chitty-chat with everyone.

The bookstore was so busy with trading that I can barely walk behind the counter. Too many books !!!!!............. Nah, never.

Anyway, we (the bookstore and I) got several new books in today from Berkley. Mostly paranormal of course. Sheesh, when my head stops spinning a minute, maybe I'll remember which ones. We got a good shipment in from Ellora's Cave right before Christmas.

And, BTW...... We added two tanning beds to the inventory......LOL
Hey, we gotta pay the rent somehow, right ?

Listin' to Trace Adkins new CD.... "X"
Whew !!!! Steamin'
